LINEAPELLE - PRESS RELEASE APRIL 2011
11/04/2011 |
LINEAPELLE 6 - 8 APRIL 2011
Positive contacts with the over 18,000 operators (+10%) gave trust to the whole international market.
After Lineapelle (6th - 8th April) recovery appears solid and work is destined to go on without trouble until the summer.
The main leather articles producing countries have definitely increased in numbers compared with the previous S-S season: Spain, Germany, USA, China, Turkey, Portugal, South Korea.
Present nations were over 95, among which Italy comes first with 12,000 operators (on a total of 18,700).
Our peninsula showed the best performance, especially in the footwear and leather goods sectors.
Concreteness in contacts underlined a demand needing to put their plans into practice, in spite of the obstacle of increasing prices proposed by the offer of materials, because of the overheating of raw materials' costs.
From top to medium range, negotiations developed in a constructive way: either on the same quality level or, to avoid rise in prices, on less expensive articles.
The most spread worries concerned the behaviour of the owners in the next future, whether they will try to put further pressure on the prices or to suddenly reduce them.
The most were involved by the optimistic atmosphere, from precious leathers (python etc.) to baby calves, from young goats to shearling, from the economic range bovines to ornamental accessories and functional components, from cotton to weavings.
Roberto Cavalli's catwalk, the 3D trends video, the artistic show and interior design at Galleria Cavour enriched and satisfied the guests.
The 1,040 exhibitors (maybe some more) will gather again at Lineapelle from 18th to 20th October.
